City of Casselberry <br />Parks and Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting—June 14, 2022 <br />Board member Buffy Werle requested more information regarding the inclusion of the zip line: <br />park placement, design and cost of inclusion. Board Chair Katy Farmer sought clarification <br />regarding the level of interest for inclusion of the zip line. Linda Moore, Recreation Manager, <br />shared additional information regarding these questions. Board member Nick Santiago spoke in <br />favor of including the zip line in the improvement project. <br />Board member LeAnn Nash expressed the importance of maintaining the least amount of <br />impact on the neighbors in terms of noise and privacy. <br />Board members Nick Santiago and LeAnn Nash raised questions regarding the lighting of the <br />park and the impact on the neighborhood along with the current barrier/buffer in place at the <br />property line. These questions were addressed by Mr. Fathelbab. <br />After Board member discussion, Board Chair Katy Farmer opened the floor for comments from <br />the public. There were no comments made. <br />Mr. Fathekbab requested the Board make a recommendation to the City Commission regarding <br />the Dew Drop Park Improvements 30% Plans. <br />6. Motion Recommendation of Wirz Park Improvements <br />Board Member Nick Santiago made a motion to provide a favorable recommendation of the <br />Dew Drop Park Improvements — 30% Plans to the City Commission with the provision of <br />recommending the spreading out of the exercise equipment along the walking path, <br />appropriate lighting of the park being taken in account with respect to the neighbors, along <br />with allowing the staff to make adjustments to the plan as necessary based upon budget <br />considerations. Motion was seconded by Board Member LeAnn Nash. Motion carried <br />unanimously 5-0. <br />7. Staff Reports <br />a) Parks Update <br />Linda Moore, Recreation Manager, discussed park improvements regarding Plumosa Oaks Park. <br />Additionally, she shared an update on the improvements to the Recreation Center with the <br />addition of new mirrors on the walls on the west side. Seniors for a Better Community <br />contributed $2000.00 toward their cost. Demolition has begun for the Art House expansion <br />project. Secret Lake Park boardwalk expansion project is about fifty percent complete. The <br />deadline for completion has been moved back to September because of the pavilion delay. <br />
