City of Casselberry <br />Parks and Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting — November 14, 2023 <br />Trustco Bank and the City of Casselberry honored active and retired military veterans on <br />Veteran's Day weekend with a 5K run and walk on Sunday, November 12tH <br />The non-profit group Abilities Workshop Inc. will host its annual Makers Market Special Needs <br />Festival on Friday, November 17th from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lake Concord Park. The event, which <br />benefits special needs families and non -profits helping those families, will have vendors, food <br />trucks, games, raffles and a DJ. It's a free event and everyone is invited. <br />New Hope for Kids will have its annual Holiday Bike Ride on Saturday, December 91h starting at <br />6 p.m. at South Seminole Academy. The 5 -mile trek throughout the holiday decorated <br />neighborhoods in Casselberry is open to everyone. Flashers on the bike and helmets are <br />recommended. The ride is a $10 donation in advance and $12 the night of the event. Children <br />under 10 can ride for free. <br />Board Vice Chair Nick Santiago asked for questions or comments from the public. There were <br />none. <br />7. Board Member Reports <br />Board Member LeAnn Nash expressed appreciation for the holiday lights in Lake Concord Park, <br />stating "they are spectacular." <br />Board Vice Chair Nick Santiago shared concerned with standing water issues at the Multi- <br />purpose field at Secret Lake Park. Additionally, he shared concerns regarding a gator that <br />resides below the bridge/dock at Hole #1 on the golf course. <br />8. Audience Participation <br />None. <br />9.
