CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of January 16, 2024 — Special Meeting Page 3 of 4 Ms. Gardner encouraged the five applicants, if they are not selected tonight, to consider applying for one of the City's advisory boards and advised that appointments would be considered at the next regular meeting on January 22nd. The deadline to complete the board application would be today, January 16t11, and the link to the application could be found on the City's website at www.casselbei-rv.org under "In the News". Ms. Gardner stated she would love to have everyone involved, or at least be considered to be involved. Mayor added that the City was always looking for people to help in its mission. Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the City Commission on this item. Discussion: A brief discussion ensued which included: acknowledgment by each of the Commissioners that that there were many great applicants for the appointment; agreement that former Commissioner Meadows had been a great asset to the City who had provided good insight on many different things including development within the City; that the City was facing important redevelopment over the next 10-15 years along the SR 436/U.S. Highway 17-92 corridor; the importance of involvement with the City and surrounding community; and the hope that those applicants not selected would consider applying to serve on the City's advisory boards. MOTION: Commissioner Busch moved to appoint Nancy Divita to fill vacant Commission Seat No. 2 resigned by former Commissioner Andrew Meadows. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Albritton. The City Clerk stated for the record that there was a motion to appoint Nancy Divita by Commissioner Busch with a second by Commissioner Albritton. The City Clerk polled the City Commission as follows: Commissioner Albritton — yes Commissioner Busch — yes Vice Mayor Aramendia — yes Mayor Henson — yes Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote 4-0. 5. CITIZEN'S COMMENTS Mayor Henson announced that persons wishing to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Henson announced the rules of decorum. No one came forward.
