CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 16, 2024 — Special Meeting <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />Ms. Gardner encouraged the five applicants, if they are not selected tonight, to consider applying for one of <br />the City's advisory boards and advised that appointments would be considered at the next regular meeting on <br />January 22nd. The deadline to complete the board application would be today, January 16t11, and the link to the <br />application could be found on the City's website at www.casselbei-rv.org under "In the News". Ms. Gardner <br />stated she would love to have everyone involved, or at least be considered to be involved. Mayor added that <br />the City was always looking for people to help in its mission. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the City Commission on this item. <br />Discussion: A brief discussion ensued which included: acknowledgment by each of the Commissioners that <br />that there were many great applicants for the appointment; agreement that former Commissioner Meadows <br />had been a great asset to the City who had provided good insight on many different things including <br />development within the City; that the City was facing important redevelopment over the next 10-15 years <br />along the SR 436/U.S. Highway 17-92 corridor; the importance of involvement with the City and surrounding <br />community; and the hope that those applicants not selected would consider applying to serve on the City's <br />advisory boards. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Busch moved to appoint Nancy Divita to fill vacant Commission <br />Seat No. 2 resigned by former Commissioner Andrew Meadows. Motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Albritton. <br />The City Clerk stated for the record that there was a motion to appoint Nancy Divita by Commissioner <br />Busch with a second by Commissioner Albritton. <br />The City Clerk polled the City Commission as follows: <br />Commissioner Albritton — yes <br />Commissioner Busch — yes <br />Vice Mayor Aramendia — yes <br />Mayor Henson — yes <br />Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote 4-0. <br />5. CITIZEN'S COMMENTS <br />Mayor Henson announced that persons wishing to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Henson announced the rules of <br />decorum. No one came forward. <br />
