Officer Acevedo provided testimony and read case information into record. If no compliance by 10/24/2019, then a fine
'of $100.00 per day should then be imposed for each day of noncompliance thereafter. The City requested a subsequent
hearing date of 11/14/2019 to determine compliance. Officer Acevedo advised that this property would be referred to a
neighborhood association, of which the Special Magistrate inquired about. The Special Magistrate asked what the
neighborhood association would do. Officer Alcuri advised that this program would consist of the City working with six
local churches in the community. The churches would provide volunteers, once properties were identified that need
attention. The program would be for people who have fallen behind on their property. Officer Alcuri continued.
The Special Magistrate asked if the property owner would like to speak. Sabrina Sanchez, 630 Kentia Rd., gave testimony
and advised that she would like to cooperate with the program and assist with the grass. The vehicle was sold to someone
in Tallahassee, who is supposed to come and remove the vehicle, but has not done so yet. An extension would allow for
the person to come and remove the car or, if they do not remove it, it could be towed to a junk yard.
The Special Magistrate made a finding that CE -19-001852, located at 630 Kentia Rd., was in violation of the City Code
Sections, as listed on the notice of code violation and based on testimony and evidence provided by the Code Enforcement
compliance by December 1, 2019, then a fine of $50.00 per day will be imposed for each day the property remains in non-
compliance. A subsequent hearing will be held on December 12, 2019, to determine if compliance has been achieved.
