CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Alinutes of June 12, 2023 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 13 of 14 <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: <br />Attended the CALNO (Council of Local Governments in Seminole County) meeting on <br />Wednesday, June 7"' which was hosted by the Seminole County Board of County <br />Commissioners at the County Administration building in downtown Sanford. A presentation <br />was given on the Wekiva River Basin and stormwater issues, and the County's efforts together <br />with other local governments to address some of those issues. A second presentation was given <br />by the Seniors Intervention Group, a non-profit organization based in Longwood, that assists <br />seniors who are in need or at risk, either health -wise or financially. After the presentations and <br />discussion, reports were given by each member organization on events and issues in their <br />respective jurisdictions. He advised there was also some discussion regarding the Live Local <br />initiative and what each jurisdiction was doing to try and temper the threat of the preemptions <br />to municipalities set out in that new legislation, and he also noted that three of the cities were <br />hosting Juneteenth events. <br />Recently attended the following events and meetings: Casselberry Food Truck event in Lake <br />Concord Park on Friday, June 9"'; and the Rock N' Blues Concert and Car Show on Saturday, <br />May 27rr' in Lake Concord Park. <br />Reminded everyone that today, June 12"', was the 7°i anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub <br />shooting, stating that lie knew everyone's hearts went out to all those affected by the tragedy, <br />and be felt it was appropriate to mention as the City had also presented the proclamation for <br />Pride Month at the last regular City Commission meeting. <br />Commissioner Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2: <br />• Thanked those involved in putting together the Casselberry Police Foundation. <br />Commissioner Chad Albritton — Seat No. 4: <br />• Extended congratulations to all recent graduates throughout Seminole County and the <br />surrounding communities. <br />• Thanked the City Clerk's Office staff for preparation of the Juneteenth proclamation. <br />Vice Mayor/Commissioner Mark Busch - Seat No. 3: <br />• Agreed with earlier comments that the Police Foundation and thanked those who were <br />instrumental in putting together the organization. <br />Mayor/Commissioner David Henson - Seat No. 5: <br />• Recently attended the following events and meetings: Mayors and Managers Meeting on May <br />16f; Seminole County Sheriff's Office Memorial Ceremony for Fallen Officers on May 18"'; <br />
