Police Officers/Firefighters Pension Board Meeting <br />March 3, 2003 <br />Page 4 <br />Mr. Christiansen stated that each pension board trustee was required to complete a continuing <br />education course within the first six months of appointment. Expenses for the seminar are <br />reimbursable from the pension fund. <br />Reported that the State Attorney General had issued an opinion stating that cities had to follow <br />State per diem rates. The City will have to make the decision as to whether they wish to abide by <br />the opinion. Chapter 112 states that reimbursement rates can be changed by local law. <br />A report on the pending legislation and issues will be given at the next meeting. <br />X. Miscellaneous <br />The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be Monday, June 2, 2003. <br />MOTION: Moved by Mr. Frank A. Schutte to adjourn the March 3, 2003 <br />meeting of the Police Officers' and Firefighters' Pension Board of <br />Trustees.
