Police Officers'/ Firefighters' Pension Board <br />June 4, 2001 <br />Page 3 <br />of Credited Service <br />Buy back provision for prior police or fire service <br />Mr. Christiansen also stated that recent legislation allowed for a decrease in contribution from <br />one (1) percent to one-half (%) percent, which change should be included in the ordinance. <br />MOTION: Moved by to Officer Jason McMullen to defer action on the proposed <br />ordinance for further review by the City Manager and direct the <br />Board Attorney to revise the ordinance to change the member <br />contribution rate from one (1) percent to one-half (%) percent; limit <br />prior service buy back to full time police and fire service only in the <br />State of Florida. Seconded by Mr. Dale Christensen. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote. <br />VIII. Financial Impact on Proposed Ordinance - Foster & Foster <br />The financial impact by Foster and Foster will also be considered at the next quarterly meeting. <br />X. Miscellaneous <br />The Board discussed the possibility of obtaining insurance to cover liability of disability claims. <br />This will be researched by Staff and reported back to the board at the next quarterly meeting. <br />The Board Attorney reminded all board members to file financial disclosure forms with the <br />Supervisor of Election by July 1, 2001. <br />The Board Attorney stated that new legislation requires revision to the Operating Rules and <br />Procedures Manual. <br />MOTION: Moved by Officer Jason McMullen to authorize the Board Attorney to <br />make the necessary revisions to the Operating Rules and Procedures <br />Manual. Seconded by Mr. Dale Christensen. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote. <br />XI. Adjournment <br />MOTION: Moved by Officer Jason McMullen to adjourn the meeting and set the <br />next quarterly meeting for September 6, 2001. Seconded by Mr. Dale <br />Christensen. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />
