CASSEL13ERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of March 7, 2023 — Pre -Budget Planning workshop <br />Page 11 of 11 <br />corridor; potential effects of tile sunsetting of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA); current staff <br />outreach to properties outside City limits but contiguous to City limits relating to potential for annexation; and <br />the potential for growing the City's tax base which would in turn make services more affordable for its <br />citizens without having to raise taxes. <br />Mr. Newlon and each of the City Commissioners expressed appreciation to staff for their ongoing hard work <br />on a daily basis to keep the City moving forward, and to those who had worked to compile the presentations <br />given today, and those who had actually made the presentations to the City Commission. Mr. Newlon also <br />thanked the City Commission for their continued support of him and all City staff. <br />Public Works & Utilities Director Kelly Brock announced that lie had just received news that the City was <br />expected to receive $360,000 in NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Services) funding for Howell Creek <br />and Carriage Hill, and the City Commission would be seeing that item brought up on a future agenda. <br />5. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Henson announced that persons wishing to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Henson announced the rules of <br />decorum. The following individual came forward: <br />Bill Hufford, 527 Queens Mirror Circle, expressed appreciation to the City Commission and <br />City staff for the detail which had been given in the presentations which he felt, as a citizen, <br />was beneficial in understanding the process and where the City was proposing going with the <br />upcoming budget. <br />No one else came forward. <br />6.
