CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of November 14, 2022— Regular Meeting <br />Page 26 of 30 <br />In response to a question from Commissioner Albritton regarding Matthew Lallathin's experience as a <br />firefighter, Ms. Gardner explained that Matthew Lallathin was a Serninole County firefighter and had not <br />been part of the City's fire department. The appointment being requested was just for the City's appointee <br />to the Board who would be representing the City's interest on the Board. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Meadows moved to appoint Tim Veigle to the Police Officers' <br />& Firefighters' Pension Board, term effective through November 30, 2024. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Busch. Motion carried by voice vote <br />3-1, Commissioner Albritton dissenting. <br />Ms. Gardner advised that the other applications would be kept on file until the end of 2023, should a vacancy <br />occur for either one of those City appointments during that time. <br />13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Vice Mayor Aramendia announced persons that wished to Make comment or make inquiry on any matter <br />not on the agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Vice Mayor Aramendia <br />announced the rules of decorum. The following individuals came forward: <br />Brenda Hendricks, 705 South Lost Lake Lane, thanked the City for the cleanup that was done <br />at the Brightwater property after Hurricane Ian, but expressed concerns about the damage to <br />the roof and the need to replace the tarping, and also the current condition of the overall <br />landscaping at the site and the lack of any ongoing yard maintenance. <br />.lose DeJCSU5, (100 Circles — no full address or city of residence given), expressed concerns <br />regarding the ordinances that were passed relating to development and redevelopment in the <br />City and the potential for negative impacts on small businesses when large retail and new <br />amenities are allowed to be developed within the City. <br />Richard Maldonado, 666 Kenwick Circle, also expressed concerns regarding the City allowing <br />large retail and big box businesses in the City, noting that several had not succeeded in the past, <br />and he felt allowing them would negatively affect existing smaller businesses. <br />No one else came forward. <br />14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />A. Procurement Information Report for the Period October 1 2022 through October <br />31, 2022 <br />Mr. Newlon advised that the Procurement Information Report for the month of October 2022 was contained <br />in the Commissioners' agenda packets for review. He noted that the report contained information about <br />minor contracts that were issued under delegated authority of staff during this period. <br />• Thanked staff for all their efforts to make the Craft Beer and Blues Festival Concert event on <br />Saturday, November 12"' such a success. <br />
