EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-02 <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA <br />OFFICIAL NOTICE <br />DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Honorable Ron DeSantis, Governor of the State of Florida, <br />entered, on September 24, 2022, Executive Order Number 22-219 establishing a state <br />of emergency as a result of Hurricane Ian and other inclement weather events; and <br />WHEREAS, Seminole County declared a local state of emergency related to <br />Tropical Depression 9, now Hurricane Ian, by Executive Order 2022-01, extended by <br />Executive Order 2022-005 dated September 30, 2022; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry declared a State of Emergency on September <br />26, 2022, and by Resolution 22-3336, the City Commission authorized the City Manager <br />to extend that State of Emergency in 7 day increments pursuant to Sections 30-7 and 30- <br />10 of the City Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry desires to adequately protect its citizens from <br />the hazards of Hurricane Ian and potential adverse situations and effects; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 252.38(3), Florida Statutes, provides authority for local <br />governments such as the City of Casselberry to take actions in emergency situations and <br />to waive the procedures and formalities otherwise required of political subdivisions by law <br />pertaining to. - <br />1 <br />o: <br />1. Performance of public work and taking whatever action is necessary to <br />ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the community, <br />2. Entering into contracts,- <br />3. <br />ontracts;3. Incurring obligations, <br />4. Employment of permanent and temporary workers; <br />5. Utilization of volunteer workers, <br />6. Rental of equipment; <br />7. Acquisition and distribution, with or without compensation, of supplies, <br />materials and facilities; <br />8. Appropriation and expenditure of public funds. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The City Manager of the City of Casselberry has extended the STATE <br />OF EMERGENCY as of 10:30am, Monday, October 3, 2022, because of weather <br />
