EMERGENCY ORDER 2022-02 CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA OFFICIAL NOTICE DECLARATION OF STATE OF EMERGENCY WHEREAS, the Honorable Ron DeSantis, Governor of the State of Florida, entered, on September 24, 2022, Executive Order Number 22-219 establishing a state of emergency as a result of Hurricane Ian and other inclement weather events; and WHEREAS, Seminole County declared a local state of emergency related to Tropical Depression 9, now Hurricane Ian, by Executive Order 2022-01, extended by Executive Order 2022-005 dated September 30, 2022; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry declared a State of Emergency on September 26, 2022, and by Resolution 22-3336, the City Commission authorized the City Manager to extend that State of Emergency in 7 day increments pursuant to Sections 30-7 and 30- 10 of the City Code; and WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry desires to adequately protect its citizens from the hazards of Hurricane Ian and potential adverse situations and effects; and WHEREAS, Section 252.38(3), Florida Statutes, provides authority for local governments such as the City of Casselberry to take actions in emergency situations and to waive the procedures and formalities otherwise required of political subdivisions by law pertaining to. - 1 o: 1. Performance of public work and taking whatever action is necessary to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the community, 2. Entering into contracts,- 3. ontracts;3. Incurring obligations, 4. Employment of permanent and temporary workers; 5. Utilization of volunteer workers, 6. Rental of equipment; 7. Acquisition and distribution, with or without compensation, of supplies, materials and facilities; 8. Appropriation and expenditure of public funds. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT: SECTION 1. The City Manager of the City of Casselberry has extended the STATE OF EMERGENCY as of 10:30am, Monday, October 3, 2022, because of weather
