Scope of Work
research. The CONSULTANT will provide in-house geotechnical services to perform
a total of two (2) soil borings, one at each project site, and develop a geotechnical
report including recommendations for removal of unsuitable material (if applicable),
structure bedding recommendations, compaction requirements, and seasonal high
water table elevations. CDM will provide the CITY a PDF copy of the geotech report
and survey, and a copy of the survey in AutoCAD format, conforming to CITY
standards.
Task 2 - Final Engineering Design Evaluation
Subtask 2.1 - Hydrologic and Hydraulic Evaluation
The CONSULTANT will develop a hydrologic/ hydraulic Interconnected Channel
and Pond Routing (ICPR) model, (Version 3.10) for each outfall to support the
proposed design and permitting effort. The proposed conditions model will become
the basis for final hydraulic design. The CONSULTANT will simulate the 1 -year,
mean annual, 25-, and 100 -year, 24-hour design storm events for both the existing and
proposed project conditions. The model results will be used as the supporting
documentation for the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD)
Environmental Resources Permit (ERP) application package. CDM will provide CITY
an executable copy of the finalized ICPR model.
Task 3 - Design Services
The CONSULTANT will prepare Drawings in general conformance with Florida
Department of Transportation (FDOT) and City of Casselberry Specifications and
Design Standards suitable for bidding and construction of the baffle box installations.
It has been anticipated that there will be approximately 6 general and civil
construction plan sheets. It has been assumed for budgeting purposes that the civil
design will include; baffle box design, riprap channel stabilization and grading.
Subtask 3.1 - Construction Documents
The design effort will include three submittal milestones by the CONSULTANT
corresponding to 60%, 90%, and 100% complete. The CONSULTANT shall use CITY
supplied Division 0 and Division 1 specifications and FDOT standard specifications.
The CONSULTANT will develop technical specifications and special provisions for
items not covered by FDOT specifications. For both the 60% and 90% milestone, the
CONSULTANT will submit two sets of half-size (11 -inch x 17 -inch) plans and a PDF
set of plans. At the 90% milestone, the CONSULTANT shall also provide
specifications and a bid tab with quantities, for review and comment by the CITY. For
the 100% milestone, the CONSULTANT will submit four sets of full size plans (22 -
inch x 34 -inch) bound, specifications, bid tab, and one compact disk (CD) containing
electronic files of the documents in AutoCAD and PDF format. Review comments
received from the CITY will be incorporated into the construction documents (plans
and specifications) as mutually agreed upon by the CITY and the CONSULTANT.
Subtask 3.2 - Engineer's Opinion of the Probable Construction Cost
The CONSULTANT will provide an Engineer's Opinion of the Probable Construction
Cost for the project at the 60% completion milestones and prepare a final opinion of
the probable construction cost estimate at the 100% milestone.
\\OrlsvWSEC\61762 -City of Casselberry\Baffle Boxes\Proposal\Scopo10Sep121.doc
