TASK 3.0 — FIELD JOURNAL DEVELOPMENT
The City UDF Field Journal will consist of a UDF mapbook and a UDF electronic log template
(E -Log Template) for field data input.
3.1 UDF Mapbook — REI will construct a UDF mapbook using the finalized UDF sequence
flushing diagram template. Each zone will have a zone identification map which will
show the zone number, major intersection, applicable zone, surrounding zones, piping,
hydrants, valves, tanks, pipe material and surrounding waterways. REI will construct a
zone identification map template for City staff review and input. REI will also group the
zones needed to be flushed consecutively into groups. The UDF mapbook will indicate
the various groups and related zones. REI will provide one (1) printed set and one (1)
electronic set of the UDF mapbooks. The electronic set will be submitted in PDF format
on a compact disc (CD).
Data Required: Latest waterway shapefile, City staff availability
Deliverables:
♦ Zone identification page template
♦ One (1) printed set of the UDF mapbook
♦ One (1) electronic mapbook CD in PDF format
3.2 UDF E -Log Template — REI will construct a UDF E -Log template using an access
database. The E -Log will contain UDF zone sequence design data and flushing crew data
collection fields such as pressures, flows, water quality parameters and any other custom
fields required by the City. REI will provide the City with one (1) electronic copy of the
UDF E -Log. Data population of the template will be performed by the City.
Data Required: City staff availability
Deliverables:
♦ One (1) electronic copy of the UDF E -Log Template
II. CITY RESPONSIBILITY
♦ Provide data, technical review, participation in workshops, and policy decisions as
required.
♦ Conduct field activities including valve and hydrant locating, inspection, testing and
repair, water quality sampling, public notification and flushing.
♦ Track valve and hydrant maintenance needed, including assets requiring repair or
replacement, assets which could not be located, valves "found closed/left closed", or
determined to be inoperable.
PLANNING • DESIGN .
