Appendix B - Cost Matrix for Watercraft and/or Grab Samples
The following matrix summarizes the sample collection costs, lab analysis for basic ambient parameters,
data review, upload to Seminole Water Atlas, and biannual data uploaded to STORET (via Atlas). The
Total Costs need to be multiplied by the sampling frequency (12 for monthly, 4 for quarterly, etc.)
to determine Total Annual Costs. This cost matrix is based on samples collected using a
watercraft or a combination of watercraft and grab samples. Due to the logistical efforts for watercraft
accessed samples, the maximum number of samples that can be collected daily is six (6) sites.
No. of
Sample
Sites
Sample Collection
Cost
Lab Analysis
Cost*
QA/QC and Upload
of Data to Water
Atlas
Total Costs "multiply by
sampling frequency
1
$200.00
$179.50
$40.00
$419.50
2
$265.00
$359.00
$40.00
$664.00
3
$330.00
$538.50
$40.00
$908.50
4
$395.00
$718.00
$40.00
$1153.00
5
$460.00
$897.50
$40.00
$1397.50
6
$525.00
$1077.00
$40.00
$1642.00
7
$725.00
$1256.50
$80.00
$2061.50
8
$790.00
$1436.00
$80.00
$2306.00
9
$855.00
$1615.50
$80.00
$2550.50
10
$920.00
$1795.00
$80.00
$2795.00
11
$985.00
$1974.50
$80.00
$3039.50
12
$1050.00
$2154.00
$80.00
$3284.00
*Lab Analysis Costs based on the following group of parameters that Seminole County currently collects
for its ambient monitoring program.
