CASSELBCRRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 13, 2022 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 14 of 14 <br />Expressed some concerns about the City's Food Truck event on Fridays, noting he did not feel <br />it had been as successful recently as in the past and suggested staff may want to look into <br />whether changes are needed. He stressed that lie wanted to be sure staff had all the resources <br />they needed to make the City's events successful. When asked to elaborate on his comments <br />about the Food Truck events, Vice Mayor Aramendia stated he felt the attendance and number <br />and quality of the food trucks had recently dropped from previous years and he just felt a review <br />of the event would be in order to see how it could be improved. <br />Reminded everyone of the 6 -year anniversary yesterday of the Pulse nightclub shooting and <br />stated that he had received inquiries about the City possibly having a resolution or proclamation <br />recognizing June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, as the City of Casselberry is a very dynamic and <br />diverse community. <br />Commissioner/Mayor David Henson - Seat No. 5: <br />• Stated that a proclamation would be prepared for the next Commission meeting recognizing <br />June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. <br />• Attended Sanford Speaks at the Sanford Civic Center on May 19t1i, a workshop on inclusion <br />and equity presented by the Peace and Justice Institute at Valencia College. <br />• Attended MetroPlan Municipal Advisory Committee Meeting on Thursday, June 2" " <br />• Spoke at the Ascension Lutheran Church's Young at Heart seniors' group meeting on <br />Thursday, June 2"". <br />• Attended the retirement celebration: for Public Works & Utilities Director Mark Gisclar at tl.e <br />Recreation Center on Thursday, June 9"'. <br />• Attended the Senior Celebration and Awards Ceremony at the Recreation Center on <br />Wednesday, May 25"'. <br />• Enjoyed participating in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Police Station this morning. <br />• Advised that MetroPlan would be presenting the 5 -year Transportation Plan at a virtual meeting <br />on June 20"' . <br />• Enjoyed the Rock N' Blues Concert & Car Show at Lake Concord Park on Saturday, May 28"'. <br />18.
