CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of April 25, 2022 — Regular Meeting Page 8 of 9 16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT City Clerk Donna Gardner shared the following information: Election qualifying period for Seats 1, 2 and 3 will be held from noon, Monday, May 16, 2022 through noon, Friday, May 20, 2022. Anyone interested in qualifying for those three seats should contact the City Clerk's office to schedule an appointment to go over the qualification requirements prior to the qualifying period. The City's next event will be Earth Fest on Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Lake Concord Park. 17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS Commissioner Chad Albritton — Seat No. 4: No report. Commissioner Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2: • Stated he was also excited about the utility customer portal and felt it would be a great tool for the City's utility customers to catch differences in water consumption earlier and would help facilitate better customer service relations between the City and its customers. He thanked all who were involved in bringing this new technology to the City and was glad to know it would be coming online this year. Commissioner Mark Busch - Seat No. 3: Added to Commissioner Meadows' comments regarding the utility customer portal, noting that between installation of the new smart meters and the utility customer portal, many issues would be resolved, and it would also create transparency for the citizens. He noted that there would also be an app that would send notifications of a leak rather than discovering it much later when the utility bill showed an unexplained increase in usage. Extended congratulations to Dr. Kelly Brock on his appointment as the new Public Works and Utilities Director effective June 12"i and noted he was looking forward to Dr. Brock continuing the great work lie already does on behalf of the City. Commissioner/Vice Mayor Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: • Reported that the City's 10' Annual Earth Fest will be held in Lake Concord Park on Saturday, April 30"', and there will be tree and shrub giveaways, kids' activities, live music, tree seminars and much more. He noted that approximately 2000 people were expected to attend, and it was the largest Earth Fest in Seminole County and second largest in Central Florida.
