Resolution 21-3267 — Residential Solid Waste Fuel Adjustment and Related Budget Amendment #21-049 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF A RATE ADJUSTMENT FOR FUEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PIGGYBACK AGREEMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION WITH WASTE PRO OF FLORIDA, INC.; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." Introduction: Approval of Resolution 21-3267 which provides for a rate adjustment for Waste Pro of Florida for residential solid waste collection services based on the 2020 Consumer Price Index effective July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 and related Budget Amendment #21-049 is requested. Discussion: Based on the 2020 data for fuel, the amount payable to Waste Pro per home per month for solid waste services will increase from $14.54 to $15.04 for regular and special collection services and from $29.08 to $30.08 for side -door collection services. Seminole County's calculations include a bear service escalator that was omitted as it doesn't apply to the City. The total increase in costs to the City for solid waste collection from July 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 will be $23,931. The adjusted rate will be backdated to July 1, 2021. Budget Impact: Budget Amendment #21-049 will increase the Solid Waste Fund Other Contractual Services account no. 118-0730-534.34-00 and the Solid Waste Fund Other Non-operating Source account no. 118-0000-389.90-00 by $21,000. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval of Resolution 21-3267 and related Budget Amendment #21-049. C. Resolution 21-3268 — Seminole State College Public Safety Training Comdex "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY AND SEMINOLE STATE COLLEGE FOR THE USE OF THEIR PUBLIC SAFETY TRAINING COMPLEX; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." Introduction: Approval of Resolution 21-3268 which provides for an agreement between the Casselberry Police Department and Seminole State College for the use of their Public Safety Training Complex is requested. Budget Impact: The funds to pay for the use of the Seminole State College Public Safety Complex have been allocated in the Proposed FY 2022 Budget in the General Fund Law Enforcement/Training account no. 001-0610-521.55-00 in the amount of $2,793.00 Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval of Resolution 21-3268.
