historically natural body of water of one W acre or more in surface area
<br />created subsequent to that map, located wholly or partly within the City,
<br />including lakes, ponds, pools and the like, irrespective of the local or official
<br />names of the bodies of water, and including all such described bodies of
<br />water regardless of ownership of bottom lands or location of property lines.
<br />A manmade retention pond is not a Lake.
<br />Mooring structure means a dock, boat davit, hoist, boat lift, mooring pile or
<br />similar structure attached to land permanently to which a vessel can be
<br />moored.
<br />Refuse (for purposes of this Chapter) means all solid waste accumulations
<br />including yard trash, garbage, household trash, business trash, and derelict
<br />materials such as damaged docks, sunken vessels, and hurricane debris.
<br />River means a natural stream of water of greater volume than a stream, creek
<br />or riverlet, flowing in a permanent bed or channel between defined banks or
<br />walls, with a current which may be either continuous in one direction or
<br />affected by the ebb and flow of a tide.
<br />Stream means an historically natural watercourse having a source, terminus,
<br />banks and channel, through which waters flow at least periodically. It usually
<br />empties into other streams or lakes, but does not lose its character as a
<br />watercourse even though it may break up and disappear.
<br />Vessel means the same as "boat."
<br />Water sports mean various sports, such as swimming, waterskiing, tubing,
<br />kiteboarding or windsurfing that take place in or on the water, however, this
<br />term does not include boating or fishing.
<br />Waterway means all bodies of water, whether flowing or static, without
<br />consideration of bed, channel, bank, current or other characteristics, located
<br />wholly or partly within the City.
