not limited to: DUVimpaired driver countenneasure operations, driver checkpoints, <br />aggressive driving and speeding violation enforcement saturations. General Traffic <br />Assistance such as traffic control for events may also be rendered under the Mut9al <br />Aid Interlocal Agreement effective January 2021 rather than this Agreement. The <br />requesting agency should send prior notification to the Sheriff, Police Chief, or agency <br />head or their designee of the assisting agency. <br />B. The Sheriff, Chief or agency head, or designee of the agency whose assistance is <br />sought, shall evaluate the situation, the assisting agency's available resources, and <br />shall respond in a manner that they deem appropriate. The decision of the Sheriff, <br />Chief or agency head or their designee shall be final. <br />C. When a "Routine law enforcement traffic operation" organized under this Agreement <br />extends across jurisdictional lines, each party participating is authorized to detain, <br />search, arrest individuals and perform all other functions as if they were inside their <br />own jurisdiction. <br />SECTION II. POLICY AND PROCEDURE <br />A. The resources or facilities that are assigned by an assisting agency shall be under the <br />immediate command of a supervising officer, designated by the assisting agency head. <br />Such supervising officer shall be under the supervision and command of the agency <br />head or designee of the agency requesting assistance. <br />B. Should any violation of Florida Statutes occur during an operation pursuant to this <br />Agreement or if secondary offenses occur which stern from enforcement action <br />pursuant to this agreement, any participating assisting officer, representing his or her <br />respective agency in furtherance of this Agreement, shall be empowered to render <br />enforcement assistance and act in accordance with this Agreement and the law, as if <br />they were inside their own jurisdiction. <br />C. The prearranged "Routine Traffic Enforcement Operations" requiring the use of the <br />City/County/State Traffic Enforcement Unit will be set forth in an Operational Plan <br />developed by the requesting agency in accordance with law, and shall be limited in <br />City/County Traffic Enforcement Unit Mutual Aid Agreement — January 1, 2021 to January 31, 2025. <br />Cities of Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Lake Mary, Longwood, Oviedo, Sanford, Winter Springs and <br />the Sanford Airport Authority, the Seminole County Sheriffs Office and The University of Central Florida <br />Board of Trustees on behalf of its Police Department <br />Page 2 <br />
