CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Ms. Reischmann shared that the Supreme Court would be taking up the statute on gun <br />regulation that basically eliminates Commissioners' legislative immunity and provides for <br />them to be personally liable with potential fines in the event a gun ordinance is passed that is <br />considered preempted. She added that several cities have challenged the statute and that is why <br />it is now going to the Supreme Court. She also gave a brief update on the anti -riot law and a <br />case that went to the 2nd DCA (District Court of Appeals) relating to the Sunshine Law as it <br />applies to committees. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />City Clerk Donna Gardner shared the following information: <br />The Track Shack Battle ofthe Bands 5Kwill return this year to a live running event after having <br />been held as a virtual event last year. The event will be held Saturday, September 18t1i and will <br />start off at Lake Concord Park at 7:00 a.m. Interested persons can still sign up and information <br />about how to do that can be found on the City's social media platforms and the website. <br />The City's Sunset Jazz & Art Festival will be held on Saturday, September 25t1i from 6-9 p.m. <br />in Lake Concord Park and will feature co -headliners Paul Taylor and Michael Lington. There <br />will also be food trucks and new art exhibits at the event. In response to a question from the <br />City Commission, Ms. Gardner advised that the contestants for the Battle of the Bands had <br />already been selected and she had shared a social media post earlier today the bio on the first <br />of the contestants which had been provided by Track Shack, noting that she would also be <br />sharing bios on the other contestants as they are provided by Track Shack. <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia - Seat No. 1: <br />• Congratulated Mr. Newlon and City staff for all their work on the budget, which he felt was <br />very detailed and to the point. <br />• Reported he had chaired the Government Day class for Leadership Seminole on Friday, <br />September 10t1, and stated that Mayor Henson had done an amazing job representing the City <br />of Casselberry. <br />Commissioner Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2: <br />No report. <br />
