CITY OF CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD The City of Casselberry Parks & Recreation Advisory Board held a regular meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the City of Casselberry Commission Chambers, 95 Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida. 1. Call to Order Chairman Van Meter calls meeting to order at 7:00pm. 2. Pledge of Allegiance Chairman Van Meter led the Pledge of Allegiance. Board Members Present: Nancy Valentine Courtney Icenhower Dia Nordstrom Melissa Holmes Ana VenMeter Staff Members Present: Linda Moore, Recreation Manager Joanne Duncan, Recording Secretary 4. Approval of Minutes — August 8, 2017 Request made by audience participant regarding that he be represented as a supporter of the Skatepark request and not a sponsor as written in the previous August minutes. Chairman Vanmeter acknowledged his request and motioned that the minutes be amended to reflect this change. Motion to approve minutes as written with this amendment was made by Member Icenhower, seconded by Member Nordstrom and approved unanimously by the Board. 5. Items for Discussion: Upcoming Events: Friday, October 13 —Art & Music in the Park Food Trucks Event which will include entertainment by the MAYS Orchestra and the Orlando Faith and Jazz Band. iLLuminArt and Sculpture Walk Event in Saturday, October 21St sponsored by Friends of the Park and Seniors for a Better Community. We will be opening up the extended area of Lake Concord Park. Franklin's Friends Howl -o -ween Dog Event is on Saturday, October 28th 9am-Noon at Secret Lake Park. Raises funds for Dog focuses. Also Halloween Funtoberfest on October 28th 4-7pm at Secret Lake Park sponsored by several local church groups. Several November and December events will be discussed next month. Our Craft Beer and Blues event is scheduled for November 10th. We are sponsoring together with Orange Blossom Blues Society. 2
