City of Casselberry <br />Parks and Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting — March 9, 2021 <br />Ms. Moore then gave an overview of arts and culture activities in the City. She informed the <br />board of the current virtual gallery with the Women's Group and current virtual class offerings <br />such as Spring Art Academy, Teen Urban Art, Acrylic Painting, and Kids Clay. She added that in- <br />person classes are scheduled to begin in May. <br />Lastly, Ms. Moore mentioned that Camp Casselberry would take place this summer with <br />modifications and that the first in-person event would be Rock N' Blues Concert and Car Show on <br />May 29, food truck events would resume in June, and board members could look forward to a <br />modified Get Outdoors Casselberry event. Discussion followed. <br />Ms. Moore added that at the upcoming Commission meeting on March 22nd, Commissioners <br />would be considering an approval related to the parks renovations. Board Member Dia <br />Nordstrom inquired when the fields would be redone. Ms. Moore explained the proposed <br />timeline and the impacts of the Land Water and Conservation Fund grant to the timeline. <br />Additional discussion followed. <br />7. Board Member Reports: <br />Board Member Nordstrom commented on the Sculpture House and its attractive aesthetic. <br />Vice Chair Farmer thanked the Art House for hosting the Seminole County AP Underclassmen <br />Exhibit and mentioned staff member Jason Costa for the tremendous job he did to bring the <br />exhibit online and how grateful the students were for the opportunity. The exhibit was promoted <br />throughout the entire school district. <br />Board Member Nash commented on the enthusiastic participation of residents getting outside in <br />the parks. She then asked about the participation in the virtual classes. Ms. Moore responded <br />that the class success is highly dependent on the instructor's level of comfort with an online <br />platform. Ms. Moore said the online galleries were very well received with thousands of visitors <br />to the website. Further discussion continued. <br />Chair Icenhower welcomed Board Members Nick Santiago and Dia Nordstrom to the board. She <br />then thanked the staff for keeping the board well informed and stated she could assist people <br />with reporting for Walk Florida if needed. <br />8. Audience Participation —None. <br />
