CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of August 9, 2021 — Regular Meeting
Page 8 of 9
14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT
Reported that the City's distribution for revenue-sharing from the State of Florida will be
$190,000 which is significantly higher than anticipated, and that between the revenue-sharing
distribution and sales tax revenues, he expected approximately $500,000-$600,000 would be
added to the City's reserve funds.
Thanked Pastor Andy Searles for attending tonight's meeting and speaking words of comfort
and encouragement as the City Commission and staff paid respects to the memory of Mark
Fitzpatrick.
Stated that due to the surge in transmission of the Covid-19 virus and the new Delta variant,
the City has reinstated some safety requirements for employees only such as mask wearing
inside when social distancing is not possible; keeping staff separated where possible; and
asking employees to work from home where possible. He advised that these measures are
temporary but are based on CDC (Centers for Disease Control) measurements of the rate of
transmission within Seminole County, which at this point is rated as high. The four levels of
transmission determined by the CDC are low, moderate, substantial, and high, and the CDC
recommends mask wearing when the rate of transmission is substantial or high. The City will
keep these measures in place until such time as the transmission rate moves back below what
it is currently to a more moderate level but would be prepared to reinstate them again if
necessary.
The City has implemented an incentive program to encourage employees to get vaccinated
against Covid-19 by offering $100 upon proof of completed vaccination and since
implementation last week 50-55% of employees have provided proof of vaccination. It is
anticipated that many others are in the vaccination process and will provide proof of completion
in order to receive the incentive.
Confirmed that due to the current Covid-19 transmission rate within Seminole County, the re-
opening of the Recreation Center has been delayed until the Tuesday, September 7t11, after the
Labor Day holiday. However, that re -opening could be delayed further if the transmission rates
continue to be high at that time.
15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
No report.
16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT
City Clerk Donna Gardner shared the following information:
• The City's Food Truck Friday event will be held on Friday, August 13th from 6-9 p.m. at Lake
Concord Park and will feature musical artist Daniel Heitz. Noted the Seminole County Health
Department will have a mobile vaccination clinic at the event offering free vaccinations with
no appointment necessary. The clinic will be located in the parking lot between City Hall and
the Art House.
