Excuse of Absence of Commissioner Andrew Meadows <br />Introduction: Commissioner Andrew Meadows has advised that he will be out of town and unable to <br />attend the August 9, 2021 Regular City Commission meeting. He has respectfully requested that his Excuse <br />of Absence be placed on the Consent Agenda for consideration. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the Consent Agenda. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Busch moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Aramendia. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote 4-0. <br />8. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Future Agenda Items <br />Mayor Henson stated that while attending the Florida League of Cities Conference he hoped to get input <br />from other municipalities about how they were handling livestreaming of their public meetings. He added <br />that he hoped any information gathered could be included in Mr. Newlon's presentation to the City <br />Commission on the status of the City's research regarding this issue. Mr. Newlon advised that he could <br />include it when he speaks to the City Commission generally at the August 23rd meeting, and he was hopeful <br />that he would be able to present something more formal at one of the September meetings. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan)Report <br />No report. <br />C. Council of Local Governments in Seminole County (CALNO) Report <br />Commissioner Aramendia reported that the meeting had been hosted by the City of Longwood on <br />Wednesday, August 411, and Seminole County Office of Emergency Management and the Health <br />Department had given a presentation on the uptick in Covid-19 cases within the County, followed by a <br />presentation given by the Tourist Development Council (TDC) on the increase in hotel stays in the County <br />following last year's decline due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Each of the member organizations then gave <br />reports on various issues and information about their respective jurisdictions which included budgets, <br />events, and development. He advised that his report had included the purchase of the Brightwater Estate, <br />the balanced budget, and the setting of the City's tentative millage rate at the very low rate of 2.9990 mills. <br />
