Budget Amendment #21-043 — Using Federal Forfeiture Fund Proceeds for the <br />Purchase and Installation of Aftermarket Burglar/Security Alarms in Police Fleet <br />Vehicles <br />Introduction: Consideration of Budget Amendment 421-043 to use $15,925 in federal forfeiture fund <br />proceeds for the purchase and installation of aftermarket burglar/security alarms in police fleet vehicles is <br />requested. <br />Budget Impact: Approval of Budget Amendment #21-043 will increase Treasury Equity Sharing IRS/SS <br />Fund Other Non -Operating Sources account #121-0000-389.90-00 and the Small Tools and Minor <br />Equipment account #121-0610-521.56-00 in the amount of $15,925. <br />BA #21-043 <br />Explanation of Request: This item seeks City Commission approval to provide funding for the purchase <br />and installation of forty-nine (49) aftermarket security alarms for PD fleet vehicles from Federal Forfeiture <br />funds in the amount of $15,925. <br />Account Number Account Description Amount <br />Increase: <br />121-0000-389.90-00 Other Non -Operating Source $15,925 <br />121-0610-521.56-00 Small Tools and Minor Equipment $15,925 <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval to expend existing <br />federal forfeiture funds in the amount of $15,925 for the purchase of forty-nine (49) alarm systems for <br />installation in police fleet vehicles and related Budget Amendment #21-043. <br />E. Excuse of Absence of Commissioner Chad Albritton <br />Introduction: Commissioner Chad Albritton has advised that he is ill and unable to attend the August 23, <br />2021 Regular City Commission meeting. He has respectfully requested that his Excuse of Absence be <br />placed on the Consent Agenda for consideration. <br />Commissioner Meadows commended staff for combining the two projects under Consent Agenda Item C <br />which allowed the City to obtain additional funding for the projects through a Local Agency Program (LAP) <br />Agreement with Florida Department of Revenue (FDOT) and federal grants. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the Consent Agenda. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Busch. Motion carried unanimously by <br />voice vote 4-0. <br />
