Future Agenda Items <br />No items were presented for consideration. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan,) Report <br />No report. <br />C. Council of Local Governments in Seminole County (CALNO) Report <br />No report. <br />D. Leadership Seminole Board Report <br />Mayor Henson had no report from the Board, but advised there was a fundraising event planned for April <br />I Ot" at the Orlando/Sanford International Airport to support the Hope & Healing Center, a substance abuse <br />treatment center located in Sanford which is the result of a partnership between AdventHealth, the Seminole <br />County Sheriff's Office, Seminole County EMS/Fire Rescue, the Seminole County Board of County <br />Commissioners and Wal-Mart. He stated that the goal for both Class 29 and Class 30 was to raise sufficient <br />funds through the event to support fifteen (15) people through the program at the Hope & Healing Center. <br />E. Mayors/Managers Group Report <br />Mayor Henson reported that he had attended a meeting of the group on Tuesday, March 161" and one of the <br />highlights of the discussion was the funding that local governments, including the City of Casselberry, are <br />slated to receive from the federal government. Mr. Newlon shared that County Manager Nicole Guillet had <br />reviewed details of the American Rescue Plan that was passed by the federal legislature and signed into law <br />by President Biden. He noted that it is a broad comprehensive plan, but some of the funding is actually <br />focused on local governments and it appears that the City has been earmarked to receive a distribution of <br />approximately $12 million which would come in two portions, half up front and half in approximately one <br />year. The funds need to be spent by December 31, 2024 and can be used for certain expenditures associated <br />with the Covid-19 pandemic and recovery from it. He advised there will be snore detail and guidance to <br />come, but that is what he knows currently. Mayor Henson also shared that that Winter Springs Mayor <br />Charles Lacey had announced 11e would be stepping down as Mayor, effective March 22, 2021. <br />9.
