CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of August 11, 2014 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 9 of 20 <br />Account Number Account Description Amount <br />Increase: <br />121-000-359.40-00 Other Fines and Forfeit/Other $27,328 <br />121-0610-521.67-35 Equipment — Other $27,328 <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval for the purchase of ten <br />(10) Protech tactical ballistic vests and related equipment utilizing Federal Treasury Trust Funds in the amount <br />of $27,328 and related Budget Amendment #14-051. <br />Audience Participation: The following individual came forward to address the Consent Agenda: <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, expressed concerns regarding the cost of <br />the Police dispatching services reflected in Item G — Resolution 14-2642, Agreement for <br />Police Dispatching Services for FY2014-15. He also stated he felt that the ballistic vests <br />being purchased under Item L should be rated for knives as well as bullets. <br />No one else came forward. <br />Commissioner Aramendia arrived at the meeting at 4:04 p.m. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Hufford. <br />Discussion: Commissioner Solomon requested that Item G, Resolution 14-2642 — Agreement for Police <br />Dispatching Services for FY2014-15 be removed from the Consent Agenda for further discussion. <br />AMENDED MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve the Consent <br />Agenda, as amended by removing Item G, Resolution 14-2642 — <br />Agreement for Police Dispatching Services for FY2014-15 for <br />separate discussion and consideration. Motion was seconded by <br />Vice Mayor Hufford. Motion carried unanimously by voice <br />vote 5-0. <br />G. Resolution 14-2642 — Agreement for Police Dispatching Services for FY2014-15 <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE AGREEMENT FOR POLICE DISPATCHING <br />SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY AND THE SEMINOLE COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Introduction: Resolution 14-2642 approves the Agreement for Police Dispatching Services between the City <br />of Casselberry and the Seminole County Sheriff's Office in the amount of $455,060 for FY14/15. <br />
