CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of July 14, 2014 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 8 of 15 <br />PLANT PROJECT APPROVED FOR PURCHASE ORIGINALLY WITH RESOLUTION 14-2562; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Introduction: Resolution 14-2633 approves the execution of the agreement with Calgon Carbon Corporation <br />which is related to Invitation for Bid #Y-140001 previously approved by the City Commission on January 13, <br />2014, to construct five (5) granulated activated carbon (GAC) vessels for the South Water Treatment Plant <br />Project in the amount of $817,210, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City budget. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval of Resolution <br />14-2633. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address any item on the Consent Agenda: <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Hufford moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as amended. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Solomon. Motion carried unanimously <br />by voice vote 3-0. <br />8. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Future Agenda Items <br />Vice Mayor stated she had received some concerns from citizens in the Lake Kathryn community regarding the <br />turnaround time for issuance of permits. She noted that it appeared that any problems were a result of the <br />process the City of Altamonte Springs was following in doing the City of Casselberry's inspections, but she felt <br />it was a matter that should be discussed by the Commission, possibly during a goal -setting workshop. <br />Commissioner Solomon requested that the issue of installation of Seminole State College banners along U.S. <br />Highway 17-92 in Casselberry be brought back up for discussion. Mr. Newlon advised the matter had <br />basically been tabled and not fully resolved, but it would be looked at further. He suggested the possibility of a <br />workshop in order to present the issue and receive guidance from the Commission. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Report <br />Advised that nothing major affecting the City of Casselberry was discussed at the July 2, 2014 meeting and <br />that the City's projects were in good shape as far as placement on Metroplan's prioritized list. She also gave a <br />brief update on the I-4 construction project which is anticipated to begin construction in January or February of <br />2015. <br />
