Introduction: Resolution 14-2618 awards the bid and approves the construction agreement with The Middlesex Corporation for road rehabilitation for the Neighborhood Improvement Project (NIP) Areas 4-7, for an amount of $1,535,583.15, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City. Consideration of related Budget Amendment #14-037 is also requested. Budget Impact: $1,350,340 is readily available in Capital Improvement Fund account #305-0720-541.63-40 for Road Rehabilitation for Areas 4-7. Budget Amendment #14-037 will allocate an additional $185,243 to this project from the Capital Improvement Fund Non -Operating Sources Account #305-0000-389.90-00 to cover the cost of this project. For tracking purposes, the Areas 4-7 project number is PW 1402. BA #14-037 Explanation of Request: This Budget Amendment provides additional funding to cover costs associated wit the Award of Bid of roadway resurfacing work related to the Neighborhood Improvement Project Areas 4-7. The Middlesex Corporation submitted the lowest, responsible bid to perform this work, for an amount of $1,535,583.15. Initially, $1.4 Million was budgeted in FY 2014 for this project, but $49,660 was encumbered for construction administration services (Resolution #14-2590), which left a remaining available balance of $1,350,340. Thus, this budget amendment is necessary to appropriate $185,244 in the project capital account in order to ensure sufficient funding is available.
