Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote 5 — 0. <br />10. FIRST READING OF ORDINANCES <br />A. Ordinance 14-1405 — Amendment to the Official Future Land Use Mqp for Properties <br />Located in the Vicinity of Seminola Boulevard and Button Road (LPA 14-01 <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 14-1405 by title as follows: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, TO AMEND THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, BY AMENDING THE OFFICIAL FUTURE LAND <br />USE MAP ESTABLISHING THE FUTURE LAND USE DESIGNATION OF MEDIUM DENSITY <br />RESIDENTIAL FOR THE PARCELS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 OF THIS ORDINANCE; <br />PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Staff Presentation: Planner Jason Sorensen gave a brief overview of Ordinance 14-1405, explaining that, if <br />approved, it would amend the City's Official Future Land Use Map by establishing the future land use <br />designation of approximately five acres of property consisting of six parcels to Medium Density Residential <br />(MDR). He explained that in September of 2013 a conceptual plan for an assisted living facility called The <br />Fountains at Lake Kathryn on the east corner of Button Road and Seminola Boulevard had been brought before <br />the Commission. He added that the name of the facility had now changed to Seasons Assisted Living Facility, <br />and these future land use changes were related to the project. Mr. Sorensen then reviewed the details of the <br />property ownership; water retention issues; density and height of the proposed project. <br />Mr. Sorensen concluded by stating that this land use change is consistent with surrounding property uses; <br />there was a notice mailed to property owners of property within 300 feet of the proposed project; there were <br />notices posted on the properties; and there was a notice published in the Orlando sent on December 9, 2013. <br />He advised that the Planning and Zoning Commission had reviewed the proposed land use change at its March <br />12, 2014 meeting and recommended approval with the following findings: <br />1. It is consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan; <br />2. It is compatible with the surrounding mix of zonings and land uses; <br />
