CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of April 12, 2021 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 15 of 15 <br />City Commission in expressing gratitude and respect for all the work the Police Department <br />does every day to keep the Casselberry community safe. <br />Vice Mayor Mark Busch - Seat No. 3: <br />• Stated he had been unable to attend the Seminole Showdown event on April 10"' due to an eye <br />injury, but gave kudos to all those involved who had made the event such a success and raised <br />such a phenomenal amount of money for such a worthy cause. He expressed appreciation to <br />the City for sponsoring participation in the Leadership Seminole classes for its City <br />Commissioners, as he felt it had been a great experience for him personally. <br />Mayor Henson — Seat No. 5: <br />• Reported that at the request of the mother of a fourth-grade student who was learning about <br />government, he had arranged a meeting between the mother, the student, City Clerk Donna <br />Gardner, and himself at City Hall, and he and Ms. Gardner had spent over an hour sharing <br />information with her about the workings of City government. He thanked Ms. Gardner for <br />taking time out of her day to participate in the meeting. <br />• Reported he also had attended the Police Department Annual Awards Ceremony on April 7"', <br />noting that Pastor Andy Searles had received the Police Department Citizen of the Year Award <br />for all his work in the community. <br />• Urged all the Commissioners not to use their City titles when posting on social media as it <br />could potentially be a public records issue at some point. <br />• Stated he was encouraged by all the great things happening in the City and pleased with the <br />good relationships that had been developed between the City and Seminole County staff. He <br />thanked Commissioner Aramendia especially for his efforts in developing those good <br />relationships. <br />Public Works Director/Acting City Manager Mark Gisclar recognized City Cleric Donna Gardner who <br />celebrated 30 years with the City on Thursday, April 8"'. <br />18.
