CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of November 16, 2020 — Regular Meeting
Page 20 of 22
Mr. Newlon advised that the Procurement Information Report for the month of October 2020 was contained
in the Commissioners' agenda packets for review. He noted that the report contained information about
minor contracts that were issued under delegated authority of staff during this period.
• Reported that Leadership Seminole had advised there were one or two seats still available for
the new class beginning in January 2021 and inquired whether any of the Commissioners
desired to make application to be included in the class. Mayor Henson expressed an interest in
participating in the class.
MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve Mayor Dave Henson making
application to participate in the 2021 Leadership Seminole class. Motion was
seconded by Commissioner Busch. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote
5-0.
Discussion: A brief discussion ensued regarding whether two Commissioners could participate in the class
and whether either Commissioner Meadows or Commissioner Albritton were interested in participating.
Mr. Newlon advised that funding for Leadership Seminole was not currently in the budget, but if the
Commission desired for two to participate, he would find the funds. Commissioner Meadows advised that
the scheduling of the classes would not work out for his schedule, and it was suggested that it may be better
for Commissioner Albritton to serve his first year on the Commission and gain knowledge about the City
before participating in the class. Commissioner Albritton indicated he would enjoy the opportunity to
participate in the class either this year or next, or whenever it could be arranged.
Mr. Newlon thanked the City Commission for their support in advancing the Public Works
compound reconstruction project which has been a major goal for the City for a long time. He
noted it would be of enduring value to the City and he and staff were grateful for their support.
Congratulated Commissioner Albritton and welcomed him to the City Commission. He stated
he was looking forward to working with him and knows Ile will do a great job.
15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
No report.
16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT
City Clerk Donna Gardner shared the following information:
Due to the holidays there is a modified meeting schedule for the City Commission. Tonight's
meeting will be the only November meeting, and the next regular City Commission and the
only one for December will be held on Monday, December 1411' at 5:30 p.m.
The Santa Run will take place from December 711' through December 1011' from 6:00 p.m. to
approximately 8:30 p.m. each evening, weather permitting, and there will be live updates on
social media during the event so everyone knows where Santa and his elves will be.
