I am happy we are doing it this way or i would have held up the meeting
till 1 Opm.:)
Comments in order:
"Transient lodging"- based on the definition does this category include any B&B, AirBnb, multi -family residences
(flophouses) advertised in public (craiglists, etc.).
A2. "Quality" "Sound"? Do these words mean current accepted "general planning standards"? — I would think there
might be better words to use to be more direct in what the City wants?
A3. "dynamic"? Are we using this as an antonym of "static" or "standard"?
E. So we are saying the monthly (so they could do a 364 day agreement each year) rental of each room is permitted only
one time a year? So they can do weekly rental to the same person for the whole year or 4 weeks rental at a time which
is less than 1 month. It just appears the language might need to include adding language regarding guest not staying
past a certain maximum time in the whole facility. The "number of days" in the facility for the whole year for a guest?
Many hotels offer lodging to the manager/employee/housekeeping/hospitality on site? Is this exempted here in E2?
F. "Amenities" — we discussed briefly at the meeting with examples but can we provide a definition with examples- The
board might want to see that there be a list so it is clear what the Casselberry community considers "amenities". Can
the board see a list of possible amenities and see if the board does not support certain types of amenities? Could add
something like "and based on city manager approval or designate".
I. No more than 8 people: I would like to see where we are getting this number from considering the maximum room
occupancy is normally in effect for each room. I could see maximum of 6 people (2 adults and 4 children). Even if this a
two bedroom or two queen bed setup with a couch... beyond 6 seems like a convention/party happening. Does this 8
come from some standard? Would the legally binding fire marshal maximum occupancy per each room be more direct
and legally sound or is that more than 8?
Definitions:
Bed and Breakfast lodging: Are we defining it here for another part of the ordinance we including this as "transient
lodging"? This does not appear to be anywhere on the additions/changes. Are we applying the ordinance change to
