Planning & Zoning Commission/ <br />Local Planning Agency Minutes <br />October 9, 2019 <br />Page 7 <br />ULDR shall be amended through this Ordinance for current and/or new hospitality lodging types and new definitions will be <br />included in Section 5-21.2 of the ULDR". <br />A discussion ensued regarding the fourth whereas clause and it was decided that no changes should be made to that <br />clause. A general discussion ensued regarding adding amenities such as a full dining facility or exercise room to receive an <br />intensity bonus up to 20% above the permissible floor area ratio or room total. <br />The Commission decided to delete the last sentence in Section 2-7.37.C.9 that references if a hotel/motel changes to <br />multi -family units. A general discussion ensued regarding securable doors, design standards for development and the <br />development of appearance standards to be included in this document. <br />In response to the Commission's question regarding Section 2-7.37.C.3., Mr. Bowley suggested adding the word <br />"locked" securable doors to that section. <br />A general discussion ensued regarding Section 2-7.37.C.4 regarding the records documenting the stay of guests and <br />it was decided to add that the records should be available to emergency services upon reasonable notice. <br />Mr. Henson asked if there was anyone in the audience who wished to speak in favor of, or in opposition to, the <br />request. No one came forward. <br />Mr. Henson asked for a motion to address LPA 19-13, Mr. Phillips made a motion that the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission, as the City's Local Planning Agency, recommend to the City Commission adoption of the attached ordinance for <br />hotels, motels, and transient lodging, and definitions, as presented in LPA 19-13 including the changes discussed at tonight's <br />meeting including Attachment A. Mr. Tizzio seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously by voice vote. <br />Eleventh Item of Business: Other Business. <br />A general discussion ensued regarding the status of the Vinzo's Italian Grill outside seating area, the concern of <br />residents on the lack of development of restaurants, and the community center. In response to the Commission's question, <br />Mr. Bowley stated that the City settled on the Chan property on October 3, 2019 and Ms. Chan would have access to the <br />property for 45 days. A general discussion ensued regarding developing the city property for another purpose and relocating <br />City Hall to the Wilshire Boulevard site. <br />Ms. Emily Hanna, Development Services Manager, stated that Lake Concord Park is a finalist for the 2019 Great <br />Places in Florida Award. She said the award was submitted through the American Planning Association and the voting is now <br />
