Resolution 20-3179 — Waste Pro of Florida Residential Solid Waste Fuel Adjustment "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF A RATE ADJUSTMENT FOR FUEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PIGGYBACK AGREEMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION WITH WASTE PRO OF FLORIDA, INC.; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." Introduction: Resolution 20-3179 provides for a rate adjustment for fuel inflation related to Residential Solid Waste Services by Waste Pro of Florida, Inc. (Waste Pro) effective July 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020. Discussion: Based on the 2019 data for fuel, the amount payable to Waste Pro per home per month for solid waste services will decrease from $14.41 to $14.28 for regular and special collection services and from $28.82 to $28.56 for side -door collection services. Seminole County's calculations include a bear service escalator that was omitted as it doesn't apply to the City. The cost to the City for solid waste collection will decrease by a total of $6,198.14 from July 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020. The rates the City charges to residents are not proposed to change at this time. The adjusted rate will be backdated to July 1, 2020. Budget Impact: Sufficient funding is available in the FY 2020 Solid Waste Fund Other Contractual Services account #118-0730.534.34-00. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval of Resolution 20-3179. E. Resolution 20-3180 — Memorandum of Agreement with Florida Department of Transportation for SR 436 at Cassel Creek Boulevard Landscaping " A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION REGARDING IMPROVEMENTS TO AND LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE FOR SR 436 AT CASSEL CREEK BOULEVARD; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." Introduction: Resolution 20-3180 provides for a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the State of Florida, Department of Transportation (FDOT) regarding improvements to and landscape maintenance for SR 436 at Cassel Creek Boulevard. Budget Impact: There is no Fiscal Year 2020 impact associated with this item. (It is anticipated the City's maintenance responsibility would likely not begin until Fiscal Year 2022 at the earliest.)
