emotional disturbance or mental illness, including de-escalation skills to ensure student <br />and officer safety as soon as practical after completion. <br />l. The AGENCY will ensure any officer working in a Seminole County Public <br />School, even on a temporary basis, in the capacity of a Safe School Officer as defined by <br />Section 1006.12, Florida Statutes, has completed a criminal background check, drug <br />testing, and psychological evaluation and is a certified law enforcement officer; as defined <br />in Section 943.10(1), Florida Statutes, who is employed by the AGENCY, a law <br />enforcement agency as defined in Section 943.10(4), Florida Statutes. <br />m. Assure that the SRO uses any information made accessible to him or her by the <br />SCHOOL BOARD or the School Safety Director pursuant to this Agreement, only for the <br />purposes for which the disclosure was made or as otherwise authorized pursuant to Section <br />1006.07(7) Florida Statutes. AGENCY acknowledges and agrees that the assigned SROs <br />are not "school officials" pursuant to Section 1002.221, Florida Statutes, 20 U.S.C. Section <br />1232g, and the federal regulations issued pursuant thereto. A disclosure of unauthorized <br />information by the assigned SRO to any person or party of unauthorized confidential <br />information made confidential pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act <br />and Section 1002.22 Florida Statutes, may result in the immediate termination of the <br />assigned SRO and may also result in termination of this Agreement. <br />n. Assure any SRO working in the schools in the capacity of a SRO is familiar with <br />the contents of this Agreement and the SCHOOL BOARD'S Student Conduct and <br />Discipline Code. <br />o. Maintain a record of daily law enforcement personnel coverage, by school, for each <br />school that is within the AGENCY's scope of responsibility. The AGENCY, on a <br />quarterly basis, shall submit documentation electronically by use of an X-CAD search <br />report to the School Safety Director to support the SCHOOL BOARD'S State of Florida <br />audit requirements. Any report that does not depict 100% coverage for any given school <br />day may be supplemented by supporting documentation on the AGENCY'S letterhead to <br />establish 100% coverage. The AGENCY will adjust the invoice to address any lack of <br />coverage. <br />p. Assist the School's School Safety Director and the SCHOOL BOARD to address <br />any action which poses a threat to school safety, whether it involves a student, staff member <br />or third party. <br />q. Notify the School Safety Director of the following: lockdown, use of force that <br />exceeds a routine takedown or redirection, felony arrest on campus, massive school <br />disruption, medical emergency or any event that could cause public concern or attention. <br />5 <br />
