Application for Florida Department of Environmental Protection Sand and Grit Removal Grant for Wastewater Treatment Facilities Introduction: Submittal of an application to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) for the Sand and Grit Removal Grant for Wastewater Treatment Facilities applies for grant funds to be used for the cleaning and disposal of debris from Plant #2, the surge tanks and headworks at the City's Water Reclamation Facility. Budget Impact: Submitting the application for the grant creates no immediate impact to the City Budget. However, upon approval by FDEP, a 50% match is required. Funds are currently available in the FY 2020 Water Reclamation Repair and Maintenance account #407-0753-535.46-00 to allocate the match and allow expenditures on a reimbursement basis. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval to submit an application to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for the Sand and Grit Removal Grant for Wastewater Treatment Facilities for the cleaning of Plant #2, the surge tanks and the headworks at the City's Water Reclamation Facility. I. Application for Department of Justice Assistance Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Award FY20 Introduction: The submittal of an application to the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice, applies for grant funding from the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program to partially fund bullet - resistant body armor approved by the National Institute of Justice for designated use by the City of Casselberry Police Department. Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget. Funds for ballistic vests have been budgeted for FY 20-21 in the Police Department Operating Supplies account #001-0610-521.52-00 and funds are currently available in the FY 19-20 budget in the Police Department Operating Supplies account #001- 0610-521.52-00. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval to apply for the Department of Justice Assistance Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Award FY20. Application for Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Grant Introduction: Submittal of an application for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Grant applies for funding to reimburse the City for expenditures and future expenses related to the Coronavirus in the amount of approximately $34,314. Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget.
