Procurement Approvals Information Report for the Period October 1 2019 through <br />October 31, 2019 <br />Mr. Newlon advised that the Procurement Approvals Information Report for the month of October 2019 <br />was contained in the Commissioners' agenda packets for review. He noted that the report contained <br />information about minor contracts that were issued under delegated authority of staff during this period. <br />• Shared that the Casselberry Police Department would be competing against South Seminole <br />Academy's basketball team on Wednesday, November 20"' at 4:00 p.m. in the school <br />gymnasium, and the school was asking for donation of a non-perishable food item to gain <br />admittance to the event. <br />• Commended all staff who worked on the two-day Craft Beers and Blues Festival on November <br />16"' and 17", noting that even with some weather challenges it was a great event. <br />• Congratulated staff on the completion of the Complete Streets improvement project at <br />Casselton Road. <br />• Advised that the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) had agreed to offer an additional <br />$200,000 to the City to assist in reaching a settlement for the acquisition of additional property <br />to be used for parking needs for Lake Concord Park. <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Added to Mr. Newlon's comments regarding the offer of an additional $200,000 from the CRA <br />for acquisition of the additional property for Lake Concord Park. She stated her office would <br />be presenting the other party with a settlement officer and she was requesting that the City <br />Commission indicate whether that was acceptable with the additional $200,000 from the CRA. <br />Mr. Newlon added that the City Commission was being asked to provide guidance as to <br />whether to appropriate the additional funds from the CRA, and if so, the City Attorney would <br />seek to achieve a settlement. If this occurred, a Budget Amendment would be brought back to <br />the City Commission in December to recognize the additional funds. He and Ms. Reischmann <br />requested a motion from the Commission as to whether to proceed. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Meadows moved that the City Commission accept the offer of <br />$200,000 from the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and direct the <br />City Attorney to utilize those funds to seek a settlement in the eminent domain <br />proceedings for the Lily Chan property. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Busch. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />
