CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of April 29, 2019 — Joint Workshop
Page 4 of 4
5. CITIZEN COMMENTS
The following individual came forward:
Mr. Walt Bagley, 614 Doheny Way, requested a recap of the final decisions or conclusions
that had been made at the workshop.
Mayor Glancy advised that no decisions had been made and that the workshop was for the sole purpose of
providing information about funding so the process could continue moving forward. She reiterated that the
next step would be presentation of the estimated costs to the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, and then the
Board's recommendations would be presented to the City Commission for consideration at a future meeting.
In response to further questions from Mr. Bagley, Mr. Newlon clarified that there could be changes and
modifications to the proposed improvements prior to the election which would be quite a way down the road
yet, and if the referendum was passed by the voters the only thing that would be certain would be the millage
rate and the term; changes could occur during construction of the improvements. He also noted that the final
decision as to whether a referendum election would be held would be made by the City Commission in
possibly June or July of this year, but that decision had not yet been formally made. After that decision is
made and formalized by ordinance, then the process could move forward and the logistics of the actual
election would be addressed.
No one else came forward.
6.
