Ms. Hudgens advised that for restroom facilities there would be men's and <br />women's facilities with a baby changing station in the rooms, but no family restroom. <br />No one else came forward. <br />Discussion: Discussion ensued amongst the City Commissioners, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board <br />members, the consultants and staff regarding the various proposed elements of the park, including: materials <br />which would be used for the buildings, roofs and wood components; use of materials from any trees which <br />had to be removed for the project; pathway lighting and illumination of the building fagade; safety features <br />for the windows, such as shatter protection to protect from downed tree limbs during storms and UV light <br />protection to protect the artwork from heat and glare; energy efficiency; ability to open up the bay areas to <br />allow air and natural light; maintenance needs for the perforated walkway covers and materials that will be <br />used; maintenance concerns for the wood features; accessibility; parking; opportunity for future expansion of <br />the building; use of composite materials to extend the life of the structure; possibility of adding a water <br />feature/fountain in Quail Pond to add another visual upon entering the facility; and parking and pedestrian <br />access. Each of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Members and the City Commissioners expressed <br />approval of the concept and design overall, but made some suggestions for additional improvements such as <br />adding a fountain in quail pond; researching possible coverings for the perforated walkway for protection <br />during inclement weather; possibly extending a roof or partial covering over the deck area of the new <br />structure to provide additional protection from weather conditions during events; and the possibility of adding <br />a mural to the new structure, changing part of the facade of the existing building or adding a metal roof to <br />further tie the two structures together. <br />B. Surmytown Park <br />Presentation: Deputy Public Works Director/City Engineer Kelly Brock introduced Mr. Max Spann, <br />Director of Landscape Architecture for CPH, the consultant selected for preparation of the Park Master Plans <br />for both Sunnytown Park and Wirz Park, who gave a presentation highlighting the amenities contained in the <br />Sunnytown Park conceptual plan which included the following components: <br />Existing Conditions Analysis <br />Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (C.P.T.E.D.) <br />o Natural Surveillance <br />o Natural Access Control <br />o Territorial Reinforcement <br />o Maintenance <br />Proposed Park Lighting Condition/Existing Condition <br />Site Inspiration & Proposed Program <br />o Proposed Program <br />o Public Input <br />Conceptual Master Plan (Revised) <br />o Anchor Road Connection <br />o Parking/Drainage Improvements <br />0 Active Amenity Improvements <br />
