ROLL CALL
The City Clerk called the roll of Elected Officials and Board Members. All were present.
4. DISCUSSION ITEMS
City Manager Randy Newlon stated that tonight's workshop would pick up where the March 2011, workshop
had left off, with presentations of the Parks Master Plans for the other three parks which are being considered
for funding.
A. Lake Concord Park/Art House Expansion
Presentation: Assistant Public Works Director/City Engineer Kelly Brock advised that the first park to be
considered tonight would be Lake Concord Park, but the focus was actually on the Art House Expansion. He
introduced Mr. Greg Meyer, principal with Stantec, which is the consultant assigned to the Lake Concord
Park/Art House Expansion project. Mr. Meyer introduced his team members, Ms. Claudia Adomavicius, one
of the firm's senior architects and designers, and Ms. Stephanie Hudgens, one of the firm's landscape
designers, who then gave a presentation which included the following components:
Proposed Art Gallery Conceptual Design
o Proposed Expansion Site Location
o Existing Site Photos
o Site Analysis Diagram
o Conceptual Site Plan
o Conceptual Floor Plan
o Conceptual Elevation
o Conceptual Rendering
o Architecture & Interior Reference Images
o Landscape Reference Images
Audience Participation: The following individual came forward to address this item:
Mr. Ed Bakalla, 560 Marigold Road, inquired whether a metal roof would be installed on
only the new building or on both the new and old buildings, whether the wood components
would be natural wood or something else, and whether there would be a family restroom at
the facility. Dr. Brock advised there were plans in the coming year to install a new metal
room on the old building and Ms. Adomavicius advised the new building would most likely
have a metal roof as well in order to tie in with the older building. She added that a
composite would be used for the wood components as natural wood would deteriorate too
