CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of August 26, 2019 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 11 of 20 <br />No one else came forward to address Ordinance 19-1517. Mayor Glancy closed the public hearing relative <br />to Ordinance 19-1517. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Busch moved to adopt Ordinance 19-1517 on second and final <br />reading, as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Hufford. <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />B. Ordinance 19-1518 — Amending the Official Zoning Mqp Designation for <br />Properties Located Near the Northwest Corner of E. Altamonte Drive and S U.S. <br />Highway 17-92 (ZB 19-05) <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 19-1518 by title, as follows: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, TO AMEND THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AS ESTABLISHED IN CHAPTER II, ARTICLE IV, <br />SECTION 2-4.3, UNIFIED LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED; AMENDING THE <br />ZONING CLASSIFICATION FROM CG (COMMERCIAL GENERAL) TO PMX-HIGH <br />(PLANNED MIXED-USE: HIGH RISE) FOR APPROXIMATELY 6.891 ACRES GENERALLY <br />LOCATED ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF EAST ALTAMONTE DRIVE AND SOUTH <br />U.S. HIGHWAY 17-92, AS DESCRIBED IN SECTION I OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING <br />FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br />Notice of Public Hearing: The Notice of Public Hearing relative to Ordinance 19-1518 was advertised in <br />the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday, August 15, 2019. <br />Staff Presentation: Community Development Director Chris Bowley stated that Ordinance 19-1518 <br />amends the Official Zoning designation from CG (Commercial General) to PMX-HIGH (Planned Mixed - <br />Use: High Rise) for approximately 6.891 acres located at the northwest corner of E. Altamonte Drive and <br />S. U.S. Highway 17-92. Written notice was posted on the subject property and notification was provided <br />to the surrounding property owners within 500 feet on May 23, 2019. The Planning and Zoning <br />Commission, serving as the Local Planning Agency (LPA), voted unanimously at its June 12, 2019 meeting <br />to recommend approval of the amendment to the City Commission. <br />The request to amend the Official Zoning Map from CG (Commercial General) to PMX-HIGH (Planned <br />Mixed -Use: High Rise) for the subject property: is consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and the <br />existing Major Thoroughfare Mixed -Use (MTMU) Future Land Use designation; compatible and consistent <br />with the adjacent land uses and zoning districts; and City services are available at the subject property and <br />will not be negatively impacted. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Community Development Director recommended adoption <br />of Ordinance 19-1518 on second reading. <br />
