Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote 4-0. <br />7. BUDGET AMENDMENT 19-050 - EMERGENCY <br />EXPENDITURES RELATING TO HURRICANE DORIAN <br />Staff Presentation: City Manager Randy Newlon explained that Budget Amendment 19-050 <br />appropriates $1,000,000 from General Fund reserves as an estimated amount which might be necessary <br />to advance fund cleanup efforts and some of the storm mitigation costs that the City may incur as a result <br />of Hurricane Dorian. He added that there was no way to know what the costs might be, and he was <br />hopeful it would not be that much. He advised that he was also hopeful that the City would recover most <br />of the costs expended through claims to FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) which is <br />customary in these kinds of events, but the purpose of the budget amendment was to ensure funds were <br />available in advance for any cleanup and storm recovery efforts. <br />BA #19-050 <br />Explanation of Request: This budget amendment seeks City Commission approval to provide funding <br />for storm recovery operations for Hurricane Dorian in the amount of $1,000,000. <br />Account Number <br />Increase: <br />001-0190-519.34-00 <br />001-0000-389.90-00 <br />Account Description Amount <br />Other Contractual Service $1,000,000 <br />Other Non -Operating Source $1,000,000 <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address Budget Amendment #19-050. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Meadows moved to approve Budget Amendment #19-050, as <br />presented. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote 4-0. <br />Mr. Newlon advised that he had inadvertently omitted in his earlier status report the fact that the City's <br />debris removal contractor Crowder Gulf is on alert and will be mobilizing immediately after the storm <br />has passed and it is safe to do so. The former bowling alley/future police station site will be utilized as <br />the debris reduction site for this storm event, with Sunnytown Park possibly being used for overflow, if <br />
