1. Ferrell Jenne commented they had sent out five disability affidavits. <br />The affidavits would be on the next agenda for board review. <br />iv. Update on SB534 posting <br />1. Ferrell Jenne commented the posting requirements were sent to the <br />City and were posted on the City's website on April 4, 2019. <br />v. Ferrell Jenne commented the plan's fiduciary liability policy was renewed. <br />Ferrell confirmed the waiver of recourse was paid for and the plan <br />reimburses the City for the premium amount. <br />vi. Ferrell Jenne commented the portal would be rolled out to the membership <br />within the next two weeks. Ferrell commented there were a number of <br />members who did not have a designation of beneficiary form on file, so it <br />would be important for those members to contact their office so they can <br />get this information updated. <br />vii. Ferrell Jenne informed the board she would be out on maternity leave for <br />three weeks during the month of October. Ferrell commented she would <br />still monitor emails during this time and there would be three other plan <br />administrators and a dedicated analyst the board/members could contact <br />during this time. <br />IX. Attorney Report <br />a. Christiansen & Dehner, Scott Christiansen, Board Attorney <br />i. Scott Christiansen reminded the trustees to file their financial disclosure <br />forms prior to July 1 to avoid fines. <br />ii. Scott Christiansen reminded the board a proposed budget for 2019- 2020 <br />would need to be done at the next meeting. <br />iii. Legislative update <br />1. Scott Christiansen commented no bills were adopted regarding the <br />Chapter 185 plan. Scott commented a cancer presumption bill was <br />passed for firefighters. The bill outlines 21 different types of cancer. <br />If the firefighter contracts one of these types of cancer, they could <br />get a benefit in lieu of a workers' compensation benefit. Scott <br />commented the benefits under this bill required the City to provide <br />funding for these benefits. Scott commented the plan may need to <br />be amended to incorporate this bill. <br />2. Scott Christiansen informed the board his law partner, Lee Dehner <br />passed away. As a result, Scott is transitioning some clients to <br />other attorneys in the area. Scott commented he would continue to <br />represent the plan. <br />X.
