City of Casselberry
May 9, 2019
■ Container Size Distribution — The most prevalent container size in service are 8 -
yard dumpsters. The mix of dumpster and roll -off service is within expected ranges
in a non-exclusive system.
♦ Container Capacity — Table 4 calculates the weekly and monthly cubic yardage serviced
within the City. Cubic yardage data can be used to estimate the daily routing demand for the
City under an exclusive collection system (discussed below). As shown, the frontloading
dumpster service is the predominant type of service provided, providing over 4,000 cubic yards
of service per week.
♦ Current Commercial Dumpster Route Configuration — Based on hauler reports, Table 5
summarizes the number of commercial frontload trucks that must traverse Casselberry streets
on a daily basis to collect commercial refuse. As shown, an average of five separate haulers
are traversing City streets every weekday, and a total of 35 trucks per week are performing at
least some collection within City limits. It should be noted that these trucks likely do not
expend a full day within the City but likely pass through to service the scheduled businesses.
Table 4 Current Commercial Cubic Yardage Serviced
Weekly
Monthly
Container
Number of
Weekly
Cubic
Monthly
Cubic
Type
Size
Containers
Collections
Yards
Collections
Yards
Ca rt
64
1
1
0
4
1
90
16
16
7
70
31
Subtotal
17
17
8
74
33
Dumpster
1
2
1
1
4
4
2
52
68
137
295
595
4
97
146
586
634
2,546
6
79
131
789
569
3,428
8
148
316
2,528
1,373
10,984
Subtotal
378
662
4,041
2,876
17,558
Roll -off
20
9
N/A
N/A
17
340
30
16
N/A
N/A
30
900
34
1
N/A
N/A
2
68
36
0
N/A
N/A
0
0
40
3
N/A
N/A
8
320
Subtotal
29
N/A
N/A
57
1,628
Compactor
20
2
N/A
N/A
8
160
30
2
N/A
N/A
7
210
34
8
N/A
N/A
18
612
36
1
N/A
N/A
2
72
40
3
N/A
N/A
5
200
Subtotal
16
N/A
N/A
40
1,254
TOTAL
440
679
4,049
3,047
20,473
♦ Current Commercial Dumpster Route Configuration — Based on hauler reports, Table 5
summarizes the number of commercial frontload trucks that must traverse Casselberry streets
on a daily basis to collect commercial refuse.
