CASSELBGRRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of February 25, 2019 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 8 of 10 <br />Seminole County Alliance, which is a statutorily -created board in Seminole County whose mission is to <br />provide the opportunity for all children and families residing in Seminole County to reach their full potential <br />in a safe environment was being requested. The Alliance membership consists of seven (7) statutory <br />members which includes representatives from the Florida Department of Children and Families, a Seminole <br />County Commissioner, a Seminole County School Board Member, a United Way representative, a <br />Seminole County Sheriff's Office representative, a Seminole County Circuit Court representative and a <br />Federation of Families representative. It also includes seven (7) or more public members residing in <br />Seminole County, as well as a representative from each of the seven (7) cities in Seminole County which <br />does not have to be, but is usually an elected official. The Seminole County Alliance Board meetings are <br />held quarterly on the third Wednesday of those quarter months at 3:00 p.m. at the Seminole County Sheriff's <br />Office. The remaining meeting dates for 2019 are as follows: April 17, 2019, July 17, 2019 and October <br />16, 2019. The City's most recent representative was former Commissioner Sandi Solomon, who was <br />appointed in November of 2016. The City's representative has the option of having a voting proxy attend <br />any meeting he or she is unable to attend by submitting a written form to the Board. <br />Budget Impact: This item has no budget impact. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the City Cleric recommended appointment of a Commission <br />Member as the City's representative to the Seminole County Alliance. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Meadows moved to appoint Commissioner Mark Busch as the <br />City's representative to the Seminole County Alliance and Commissioner Bill <br />Hufford as the alternate. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Aramendia. <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Glancy announced persons that wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Glancy announced the rules of <br />decorum. The following individuals came forward: <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, expressed some concerns that Seminole <br />County had not yet made any improvements to the portion of Oxford Road in its jurisdiction, <br />noting there was overgrown shrubbery in the area of the intersection with Fernwood Boulevard <br />which he felt presented a safety hazard. <br />No one else came forward. <br />14.
