City of Casselberry <br />Parks & Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting — December 11, 2018 <br />accomplishments for the City Parks and Recreation Department. The Parks and Recreation <br />Department seeks feedback and additional input from the PRAB for this annual report. A draft <br />will be presented at the January, 2019 meeting. <br />Vice Chair Icenhower briefly responded with a suggestion that park event attendance information be <br />included in the annual report. The City events are all well attended and local business participation is <br />very active. Member Farmer also responded regarding event attendance and agreed that the events <br />are very successful mainly due to the multiple activities for all ages at the events. Alternate Nash <br />agreed that the City has developed a good reputation for its activities and community development. <br />Member Lallathin briefly discussed the social media need and to include our media results in the <br />annual report. <br />Member Lallathin made a motion to approve the outline for the annual report. Motion was <br />seconded by Member Farmer. Motion passed unanimously 5-0. <br />Recent updates and improvements to our City Parks include: <br />• Grant funding has been awarded for recent park improvements <br />• Casselberry Golf Club recent upgrades and course lighting <br />• New aluminum benches for Secret Lake Park have been ordered. <br />• Holiday lights are installed at Lake Concord Park <br />• New shade structures over bleachers are being contracted for Wirz Park <br />• Obtaining price quotes for roof A/C units at the Recreation Center <br />• Parcel donated by a local citizen, Barbara Christianson, at Carriage Hill community trail access. <br />Public Works has cleaned up the area and made into a small pocket park. A plaque may be <br />installed. <br />Member Lallathin made a motion for a recommendation for a plaque to be installed at the <br />Carriage Hill park area thanking Ms. Christianson for her donation. Motion was seconded by <br />Member Callan. Passed unanimously 5-0. <br />6. Staff Report —Linda Moore <br />• Friday, December 14th — Handmade Holiday Boutique in conjunction with Art & Music in the <br />Park and Food Truck Bazaar from 6-9 p.m. in Lake Concord Park. Special appearance by Santa <br />Claus for holiday photos. <br />7. Board Member Reports: <br />Member Lallathin reported that she organized a bullet list of all activities and posted it on her <br />community bulletin board. She will continue to promote the events for the City to her community. <br />Member Farmer gave positive feedback regarding the Santa Run and the Tree Lighting event. <br />
