RESOLUTION 18-3051 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE <br />SEMINOLE COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />ADDRESSING INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />SEMINOLE COUNTY AND THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry and Seminole County place the public health, <br />safety, and welfare of the community as a primary goal; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry, Seminole County, and other municipalities within <br />Seminole County entered into an Interlocal Agreement on July 22, 1986, for the establishment of <br />an E-911 Emergency Number System to facilitate a uniform process for assigning addressing <br />and an efficient emergency response that promotes public health, safety, and welfare; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Casselberry adopted Ordinance No. 560 on January 8, 1990, to <br />further define its process in the administration of the E-911 Emergency Number System; and <br />WHEREAS, Seminole County seeks to further define the operation of the E-911 <br />Emergency Number System's Countywide Automatic Location Identification database and to <br />requires an annual fee of $5,000.00 invoiced to cities listed in the 1986 Interlocal Agreement that <br />do not provide their own addressing management system; and <br />WHEREAS, Seminole County provided to the City of Casselberry the Seminole County <br />Emergency Management Addressing Interlocal Agreement between Seminole County and the <br />City of Casselberry for the administration of the E-911 Emergency Number System for the City <br />of Casselberry on an annual basis, until the City of Casselberry elects to operate an internal <br />addressing management system; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Casselberry, Florida, has determined <br />that execution of the Seminole County Emergency Management Addressing Interlocal <br />Agreement between Seminole County and the City of Casselberry promotes the public health, <br />safety, and welfare of the City of Casselberry citizens by ensuring consistent database <br />management and emergency response coverage. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. The City Commission of the City of Casselberry hereby approves the <br />Seminole County Emergency Management Addressing Interlocal Agreement between Seminole <br />County and City of Casselberry, attached as Exhibit "A", and authorizes the Mayor to execute <br />said document on behalf of the City of Casselberry. <br />
