Resolution 18-3054 — Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police Collective Bargaining Agreement The City Clerk read Resolution 18-3054 by title, as follows: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, RATIFYING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY AND THE FLORIDA STATE LODGE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." Staff Presentation: Acting Human Resources and Risk Management Director Natasa Cacija gave a brief overview of Resolution 18-3054, which approves the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Casselberry and the Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police (FOP)for the term beginning October 1, 2018 and ending September 30, 2021, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said document on behalf of the City. The City of Casselberry employees police officers, corporals and sergeants who have been represented by the Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) since September 2, 2015. The current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) expires September 30, 2018. The collective bargaining and negotiation process between the City and the FOP concluded on July 12, 2018. On July 19, 2018, the FOP held a vote of its membership which approved ratification of the proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). With the ratification from the Union, the proposed CBA is being provided to the City Commission for ratification, which authorizes implementation of the agreement. The proposed CBA includes several changes and provides an overall mutually beneficial exchange of provisions while also meeting the strategic goals of the City. Many of the changes are minor.
