CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of May 14, 2018 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 8 of 18 <br />L. Application for Department of Justice Bulletproof Vest Partnership Award FY 18- <br />19 <br />Introduction: Consideration to submit a grant application to the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant <br />Program, through the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice, for grant funding of bullet <br />resistant body armor approved by the National Institute of Justice for designated use by City of Casselberry <br />police officers. <br />Budget Impact: There is no anticipated budget impact at this time. A budget amendment will be created <br />upon acceptance of a grant award for the purchase of bulletproof vests. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager, and the Police Chief recommended approval to participate in the <br />Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program for fiscal year 18-19. <br />M. Application for a Target 2018 Community Engagement Funds Grant <br />Introduction: Consideration to apply for a grant award through the Target Corporate Social <br />Responsibility, FY 18 Community Engagement Funds Grant for designated use by the City of Casselberry <br />for the annual National Night Out Event is requested. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City budget at this time. A budget amendment will be prepared <br />upon receipt of the grant funds. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval to apply for the Target <br />Community Engagement Funds Grant award in the amount of $500. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the Consent Agenda. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Solomon moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Hufford. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />8. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Future Agenda Items <br />No items were presented for consideration. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Report <br />Mayor Glancy reported she had attended the meeting on Thursday, May 10"i; however, the agenda had not <br />included any updates or status changes relating to any of the City's projects. <br />
