CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of May 14, 2018 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 17 of 18 <br />Commissioner Bill Hufford — Seat No. 4: <br />• Thanked Chief Krantz, the Casselberry officers, and other organizations who participated in <br />the Kids -n -Cops Fishin' Derby event on Saturday, May 12ti'. <br />• Commended Community Development staff for implementing a facility/amenity tour program. <br />• Congratulated Deputy Public Works Director/City Engineer Kelly Brock and Chief Planner <br />Emily Hanna on their recent successful Complete Streets presentation to a group in New <br />Orleans. <br />• Complimented the new City newsletter and expressed thanks to City Clerk Donna Gardner and <br />Executive Assistant to the City Manager Judi Romboli for taking the lead on making it a reality, <br />and to all staff who contributed to it. <br />• Thanked everyone who had participated in and promoted the Bike 5 Cities event on May 5'11 <br />Vice Mayor Andrew Meadows — Seat No. 2 <br />• Was also very impressed with the newsletter and commended the team responsible for it. <br />• Congratulated Commissioner Aramendia on his appointment to serve as CALNO Chair. <br />• Attended the Wine on Nine golf event on May 5`1 and thanked those who helped organize it. <br />• Commended the Police Department for all they do keep the citizens of Casselberry safe. <br />Mayor Glancy — Seat No. 5: <br />• Expressed gratitude to Chief Krantz and all the members of the Police Department for all they <br />do on a daily basis. <br />• Congratulated Commissioner Aramendia for being selected to serve as CALNO Chair and <br />thanked him for sharing about the various programs other cities had implemented. <br />• Congratulated Commissioner Aramendia and all who worked to make EarthFest a great <br />success. <br />• Commended Code Enforcement staff for the proactive approach they are now taking with <br />enforcement measures. <br />• Congratulated the team that had worked on creating the new Casselberry Quarterly and <br />thanked Ms. Worrell for her earlier comments about the community's response to the <br />newsletter. City Clerk Donna Gardner advised that there would be a continuous push to provide <br />information to all areas of the community, and making the newsletter digital was a good way <br />to provide more information cost effectively and also draw the community's attention to the <br />additional information contained on the City's website. She added that the City would be <br />providing a limited number of printed copies which would be available at City Hall, and the <br />team would be looking at other options for future budget years. <br />• Expressed some concerns about speeding on Guinevere Drive and an accident which had <br />recently occurred in that area. Mr. Newlon advised that the incident to which she referred had <br />been an extraordinary occurrence and the Police Department had handled that particular <br />incident; however, steps were also being taken to determine whether there was a need for <br />additional enforcement strategies in the area. <br />
